Introducing The Bright Lights Club

About

Her Light Shines Bright formed a club for girls!

The Bright Lights Club is an afterschool club for girls. As preteen and teen girls face considerable challenges during their middle school years, the Bright Lights Club was created to support and encourage them through these times. At each meeting, leaders focus on addressing issues like friendship, relationships, character, and conflict; all with biblical based truths and application. The girls are encouraged to be kind, positive, encouraging, gentle, and different.

Mission

To learn, grow, and serve for the betterment of the school community & the body of Christ!

Theme Verse

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. But above all these things put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12

Motto

In the darkness, her light shines bright.

Hard Truths for Girls

1. "Sticks and Stones" is so false!

Everyone has heard of the phrase "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt you", but we all know that is so not true! Words hurt. Words have lasting effects. We must be diligent in recognizing the impact of what we say to others.

2. Not everyone is going to like you (and that's ok!)

Life is hard and it can be full of rejection. The more we realize that not everyone is going to like us, the more we accept that that's ok. Is it easy? No. Does it hurt? Yes. We must put value in the creator, the only one who loves and accepts us completely.

3. You don't have to be friends with everyone

The bible doesn't say we have to be friends with everyone, but it does say we should be friendly to everyone. Jesus' squad was small, but he was friendly to many.
